Dental Bridges

If you have one or more teeth missing, we may be able to fill the area with a bridge. This is a permanent alternative to wearing dentures or having implants installed. We take impressions of your mouth and use them to develop a natural-looking bridge that matches the appearance of the rest of your teeth.

What is a Dental Bridge?

A bridge is a prosthetic that attaches to your existing teeth to fill a gap where teeth are missing. In order to get a bridge, your surrounding teeth must be strong enough to support it. If your surrounding teeth are not strong enough to support a bridge on their own, we may add crowns in order to turn them into anchors.

While removable bridges are an option for some patients, we recommend fixed bridges due to their durability and stability. In order to qualify for this treatment, you will need at least one stable natural tooth next to the gap to support it. If you don’t have stable natural teeth, we will recommend tooth implants or other solutions to restore your smile.

What To Expect When Getting Bridges

Before starting this procedure, we will have a consultation with you to determine what type of oral bridge is right for your mouth. When developing the bridge, we will work with you to make sure you are happy with the color and shape of the crowns. We will create a mold of your mouth prior to the procedure, which is used to create a customized bridge.

During the procedure, you will receive a local anesthetic to ensure you are comfortable. We also offer more comprehensive sedation options for those who prefer them. After confirming that the bridge fits properly and provides the desired result, your dentist will cement it in place.

In most cases, you will be able to resume your daily activities after the procedure, but you will need to be careful eating and drinking. We will have a follow-up appointment with you to confirm that the bridge is healing properly.

Why Should I Get a Bridge?

Dental bridges  are a great option for people who only have a few teeth missing and want to restore their natural smile. This is a less invasive alternative to dentures or implants that will allow you to talk, eat, and drink normally.

Bridges are designed to look natural and fit in with the rest of your smile. We design your bridges to blend in seamlessly with your other teeth, customizing the shape and color to suit you. This can help you feel happier and much more confident in your smile.

Our bridges also offer functional benefits for the patient. Losing teeth can make it difficult or even painful to speak, chew, or just move your mouth. A bridge will restore your mouth’s full functionality and make your life more comfortable. Investing in your oral health will help you fully enjoy your daily routine for years to come.

Bridges are designed with durability in mind and are designed to last for five to 10 years at a time. You can extend the life of your bridges by practicing good oral hygiene and visiting your dentist regularly. Installing a bridge in places where you have lost multiple teeth is good for your overall oral health, as it can prevent bacteria from building up in your gums and causing more serious issues. Bridges also help to maintain the shape of your face and jaw and prevent teeth from shifting.
